17 August 2024 - Match report...

Kingston welcomed Bec Old Boys to Hook Road for the first pre-season hit out ahead of the 2024/25 league campaign.

In hot conditions both sides looked to play some running rugby and implement what they have been working on in training as well as blooding some new players.

Bec, playing down the slope, were the first to break the deadlock with a well-read interception from halfway. Following this Bec continued to exert pressure on the Kingston line but were unable to capitalise.

Kingston quickly hit back with two tries from Hugo Eyre, before Bec crossed the whitewash again.

Kingston had the final say with the last try of the match from captain Christy O’Brien. Connor Ashwin slotted all three conversions, helping Kingston run out as 21-12 winners.

A big thank you to Bec Old Boys for stepping up and providing the fixture, and we look forward to playing them again in the league fixtures.

Congratulations to Kingston debutants Zach Drennan, Theo Wedge, Dylan Hall, Wilson Dutton and Harry Collins who all played well in their first games for the club. Looking forward to seeing more of these boys in the maroon, navy and white. We also wish a speedy recovery to Sam Johnson who dislocated his shoulder early in the match.

Next up Kingston will face Old Rutlishians at Hook Road on 31 August 2024 before the league fixtures kick off with an away trip to Chipstead on 7 September 2024.
