Meet the Kingston Rugby Minis
Kingston Rugby Football Club (Kingston RFC) offers a fun, energetic minis program for kids aged 5 to 10. Focused on introducing the basics of rugby in a playful and supportive environment, the program features plenty of running, passing, and tackling games designed to keep children engaged and smiling. Our friendly coaches create sessions filled with fun drills, mini-matches, and laughter, ensuring every child feels included and valued.
The minis also participate in regular rugby festivals, where they get to play against other clubs in a safe, non-competitive environment. At Kingston RFC, kids build confidence, make new friends, and develop a lifelong love for rugby—all while having a blast!

We are a family and it's about making friends for life and having fun!
Under 11's
This year, the U11s move up to playing 9-a-side matches, marking an exciting step in their rugby journey. Hookers are now allowed to compete at the scrum, though pushing is still not permitted to ensure player safety. In rucks, up to two players from each team can now compete for possession, adding more tactical elements to the game. But perhaps most thrilling for the players—this is the year they can kick the ball during play!

This age group can now train with the Juniors on Wednesday evenings.

This year, the U10s are taking their skills to the next level by learning how to ruck and maul. At this stage, only one player from each team is allowed to compete in these areas to maintain safety and control. The team is also introduced to the three-man scrum, with safety as the top priority. Coaches focus on proper scrum technique, ensuring players understand positioning and engagement. There is no pushing in the scrum at this stage, as the emphasis is on building a solid foundation for future development.
Under 9's
This year, the U9s are reaching an exciting milestone: their first year of tackling! Our coaches will focus on developing proper tackling techniques to ensure the experience is safe, fun, and enjoyable. Players will be introduced to key concepts such as the "Tower of Power" stance and the "Ring of Steel" for core strength and protection, helping them build confidence and learn the importance of safety in contact rugby.
